Our Year 6 children enjoyed a fantastic Chinese lesson today with visitors from St Bees School. In a short space of time, we covered a huge amount of content, Chinese greetings and counting all the way up to 999.
A big thank you to Mr Gribble, Lucy, and our ex-pupil Bobby for delivering such an engaging session. Bobby, it was lovely to see you back!
What a great afternoon of learning!
As part of our electricity topic in Science, Year 6 have been building their own steady-hand game circuits. Lots of problem solving, testing, refining…and plenty of fun.
To tie in with the book they’re reading in English, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, Year 6 visited Tullie Museum and took part in a fantastic automata workshop.
First, we looked around the exhibition and marvelled at all the creations on display. Then we moved into the workshop and learnt about the mechanics of automata before designing and making our own piece of moving magic.
We are lucky to have Karen Whybrow coaching us Rugby this half-term. We're very grateful for these sessions that will enrich our PE lessons.
In the first lesson of our drawing unit, the children sketched a range of fruit and vegetables. We focused on how to capture the colour, shape and form of each example.
