Investigating Materials

We enjoyed testing different materials to find out if they were waterproof or not.

Coronation Celebrations

Class Assembly

We enjoyed performing our class assembly to our parents and the rest of the school.  We taught them all about birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals and fish.

�� World Book Day �� 

We enjoyed looking at the author Beatrix Potter for World Book Day.  We explored characters from her stories, learnt about the lady who wrote them and had fun orienteering in our fabulous costumes.

 �� The Great Fire of London �� 

As part of our history topic we have enjoyed a visit from Whitehaven fire engine.  We learnt all about the things they use when rescuing people.

�� Printing �� 

Animals, including humans

In science we have been learning what an animal is.  We also learnt to classify them as mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish.  We enjoyed a visit from Pet Encounters to show us some real animals so we could look for their features.  We also explored humans senses.

Judaism

We enjoyed our visit from Simon who told us lots of interesting things about Judaism.

�� Forest School ��

In spring term we got to revisit Forest School again.  We explored our senses and took part in the big bird watch as well as climbing, hanging, swinging, creating, building, investigating, observing, communicating, persevering and having fun!

Computing

In computing we have been learning how to collect and represent data.  We went on to create pictograms of monthly weather.

Seasonal Changes

Every month we head out and observe what has changed around school.  In January it was very cold.

Panto Time

We were very excited to visit the Carniege theatre to watch Jack and the Beanstalk.

���� The United Kingdom ���� 
In geography we took a virtual trip to all the countries that make up the United Kingdom.
 It was great fun!

How Day Becomes Night

We have been learning about day and night.  We used torches for the sun and balls to represent the Earth .  In pairs we demonstrated how the Earth  rotates on its axis to face the sun during the day and away from the sun at night.

We have been busy learning what fruits and vegetables are, tasting them to help us decide what smoothie we wanted to make.
 We then learnt to peel, cut and blend ready to make our tasty smoothies.
