As part of our topic on the Victorians we went to The Beacon and Whitehaven Records Office to find out what life was like in Victorian times. We learnt what games children would play, how life was different for the rich and poor and what life was like down the mines. Did you know children as young as 7 worked in the mines at Whitehaven?
