The First World War - Home Front

On the 19th June 2014, Mrs Norton, from the Archives in Whitehaven, came into our school to talk to us about Cumbria in World War 1. She brought in lots of photo-copied letters and different objects including: tinfoil, chestnuts, blackberries, wool and an egg. Mrs Norton also made us a newspaper using all of the Whitehaven News’ from 1914-1918. We all had lots of fun
