Alan Gillon from The Beacon came into school today to talk about the First World War.  He came in role as Private Gillon and wore an army uniform from 1914.  It was very interesting to hear about life at 'the Front', and to see all of the kit that the soldiers would have needed. The early gas masks were quite funny to see, but thankfully they did save lots of lives.
