On Monday 28th November Anne and Tanya came in from the library service and introduced us to the guide books Alfred Wainwright wrote about the Lake District. We found out about his life as a child, hs school life and his love of the lakes. His drawings were amazing (we found out how to draw like him using ink) and he had the most beautiful handwriting. We discovered he published his books in black and white to keep the cost of them down so more people would be able to afford them and hopefully adventure out on the Cumbrian fells.
